This weekend was the weekend of reunions. Some of my friends from college planned a little reunion in Baltimore on Friday night and Saturday during the day in Towson, and Kc’s 5 year high school reunion was Saturday night in Baltimore as well.
On Friday night we went out to Mother’s for dinner and drinks, and then to No Way Jose’s and Stalking Horse for some more drinks and fun. It was really great to see some of the people I haven’t seen in a while… a friend that moved to California was back, friends that moved to DC were in town, and everyone who moved up north to New York also made the trip down.
On Saturday, it was beautiful outside, so we all met up in Towson to day drink- one of our favorite activities. We went to CVP’s, one of our favorite bars for lunch and then went to the lacrosse house to play some frisbeer and enjoy the sun. We used to hang out there all of the time so it was fun to reminisce and think about all of the good times we’d had there over the years and it we were all really happy to be back.
When the sun started to set, Kc and I got a cab back to Baltimore to get ready for his 5 year high school reunion. It’s SO weird that we’ve already been out of high school for 5 years… I can’t believe how fast time has gone by the past few years. Since we’ve been dating for almost 5 years, I know most of his friends, so it wasn’t awkward at all for me to be there. The bar it was held at is one of the best bars in Baltimore- Mad River, so after the official reunion was over at 11pm, more people we knew met us there and we stayed until the bar closed (which is why I’m currently falling asleep at my desk).
On Sunday, we didn’t intent on continuing the drinking… but it just happened when we found out bloody mary pitchers were on special at Mothers, where we went to breakfast. We enjoyed a nice long breakfast and hung around for a little longer when more of Kc’s high school friends met us there for another drink.
I drove down with two friends who also live up North now, so they switched back and forth driving back home, which ended up taking 5 miserable hours because of traffic.
It was really an amazing weekend- I wish it didn’t go by so fast. I guess that has something to do with the fact we were drinking basically the whole entire time… but that seems to happen every time we visit Baltimore, so it’s just become the norm and I’m totally okay with that.
